Office of Economic Development

Cobbs Creek Reservoir, Cumberland County

Call to Action

Cobb’s Creek Reservoir---you’ve heard about it, but what comes next?  Recreation? Commercial or residential development? New employment?
Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University have been asked by the County to help answer that question. We can “run the numbers” but that’s only part of the story.  We need your vision.
A picture is worth a thousand words!
What would you want to see in the area around the reservoir, the largest project ever undertaken in the County?  Tell us in pictures!
County residents are being asked this summer to take pictures and collect images from the internet, newspapers and magazines.
When you look around the County what do you like?  What would you like to change?  We’ll provide the camera you bring us pictures of these assets.
When you think about the new things that could come with development, what would be an improvement?  What would pose a problem?
Come talk and listen!
You are all invited to County-wide meetings this fall where will talk about your pictures and what visions you share for the Cobb’s Creek area.
